Students will have the option of joining either with Zoom or in-person (as safety guidelines permit) in small groups (of 4). In other words, there will be a zoom camera switched on each day. The instructor will teach with the camera and speaker setup for students using Zoom to be able to interact during the class--especially during lectures and studio work time--to receive feedback on their projects.
During the class for those working in-person, masks and safety measures will be required for attendence. Anyone who has been in the vicinity of a known or possible Covid-19 exposure MUST choose to attend via Zoom until tested and receiving a negative test result from your healthcare provider. If you have any symptoms of any virus, cold or flu, you are asked to refrain from attending in-person classes. *It may be possible that some classes may require Zoom attendence due to requirements by public health officials.
This 10-week term is focused on painting in color; Students learn the vital aspects of palette management, paint mixing, application and brushwork. A series of shorter exercises guide the student toward a greater level of sophistication and sensitivity to color and design. In a step by step process, students develop in more individualized application and genre: portraiture, landscape, still-life, etc. Completion of three terms of 2nd Year study in the Atelier Program is a requirement for enrollment in 3rd-Year coursework.
