FAQ
If I register for a term in the Atelier Program, am I committing to continuing in the program or paying tuition beyond this term?
No, there is no commitment beyond the 10-week course you register for.
Our aim in offering Atelier instruction is to make it easier for artists at any level to gain strong rendering and painting skills locally on an individual basis--in a way that doesn't require an enormous time or financial commitment. It is also our aim that each student improves to the degree that they feel their continuation is desirable or justified.
Since I have previously studied Drawing or/or Painting, do I really need to attend the 1st Year of study before moving into Painting?
With few exceptions, Atelier students are required to attend 1st-Year study.
If, however, you have attended an Atelier School and have developed a skill-set that pertains to Classical Drawing and/or Classical technique in Painting, we would consider in those instances an advanced placement after reviewing your work. The reason, of course, is that Classical methods or rendering and painting are vastly different than contemporary manners. Talent also is a wonderful thing; but talent without strong skill development inevitably leads to greatly eclipsed potential.
