Course DescriptionThis 10-week course is dedicated to developing mastery in color use, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, harmony, and visual design. Students build essential skills in palette organization, mixing strategies, color temperature, and brushwork—while also learning to make intentional, expressive color choices that support mood and clarity. Through focused exercises and guided projects, participants explore naturalistic and stylized approaches to color, developing a deeper sensitivity to value, chroma, and temperature. Instruction balances practical paint handling with critical insights into color structure, helping students translate observation into evocative, well-composed work. Subjects will rotate across still life, portraiture, and landscape, supporting versatility in expression and technique.
